The Guangdong LNG Terminal is located in Shenzhen at Chengtoujiao, Dapeng Bay, covering a total land area of 40 hectares. The main facilities of the terminal includes: three 160,000 M³ superscript LNG storage tanks, a berth capable of accommodating 80,000~260,000 M³ LNG carriers, six sets of LNG vaporizers, four sets of NG metering stations, an automatic central control system, fire control systems, public utility and other auxiliary facilities. With the increase of trading, the gasification equipment and supporting facilities will be added to ensure reliable LNG supply.

The imported LNG is supplied and shipped from by Australia Northwest Shelf LNG Venture and shipped by LNG carrier to the LNG Terminal where it is unloaded into LNG Tanks. The unloaded LNG is stored at a very low temperature of -162°C at normal pressure. When required, LNG is pressurized and re-gasified to NG which is then transmitted via the large-sized underground pipeline to the off-take stations. Here it is metered and then distributed to the towns gas pipeline networks as well as to the LNG power plants.
